Bengali Kali Puja 2024: –Kali Puja is an auspicious Hindu festival, observed on the third day of Diwali. Goddess Kali is worshipped on this new moon day with great joy and enthusiasm.
Many people perform Lakshmi Puja on the same day whereas West Bengal and many other states of India observe Kali Puja. However, it is the most important day of the entire Diwali celebration.
Kali Puja and Diwali Puja are celebrated on the same day most of the time. However, Kali Puja might take place a day before the Diwali Puja. The midnight of Amavasya is considered the ideal time of Kali Puja.
In West Bengal and many other parts of India, celebrate Lakshmi Puja on the full moon day. Moreover, Lakshmi Puja on the Ashwin month is called Kojagari Puja or Bengal Lakshmi Puja.

Significance of Kali Puja
Kali Puja is also called Shyama Puja. Maa Kali signifies eternal power and divine feminine energy. As per the Hindu calendar, Kali Puja falls on the Amavasya tithi in the ‘Aashwin’ month.
This auspicious observance is performed either in late October or mid-November. Most of the rituals of Kali Puja start at midnight. Mother Kali protects us from evil energy. Pilgrims perform all the puja rituals with great dedication and enthusiasm.
About the Kali Puja Preparation
Eastern India observes the worship of a number of idols of Goddess Kali. Pandal hopping is one of the integral parts of this celebration. People decorate their homes with flowers, earthen lights, and candles.
Devotees contact a Pandit to arrange all the needed Puja essentials. Since the puja starts at midnight, all the necessary arrangements must be made before that.

You must clean the entire puja location. Once the Goddess idol is placed, all the puja ingredients need to be purified with some holy water.
The invoking procedure is all about incense sticks, incense, and perfume. Some other ingredients of this process include flowers and red sandalwood paste. The Nyasa process is then started, which is about ringing the bell and meditating for Goddess Bhagwati.
Devotees offer aachman, sandalwood paste or powder, clothes, holy thread, and Akshatha to the Devine Mother.
Once the puja is completed, food and Dakshina are offered to the Brahmins, who have performed the rituals. And then, prasad distribution among devotees gets started.
A large number of devotees decorate their homes to honour the Divine Mother. The evening hours of the day observe the worship with Tantric rites as well as mantras with red hibiscus flowers. Other food offerings include meat, lentils, rice, and fish. The custom of animal sacrifice has been reduced for more than a couple of years.
